Pretty much the best authentic tacos in Lexington!If you love good, authentic tacos, and don't mind a bare bones, seriously no frills atmosphere, you've got to try these! My personal favorites are the carnitas tacos and al pastor tacos, with extra onions and cilantro. They are meaty and flavorful, and there are three tables salsas available to add some zing. One is the salsa verde, salsa Roja has just a little more kick, and the third is a habanero salsa. It has a nice habanero zap, and a good base flavor, to boot. The tortas and burritos are also very good here, and the soups looks very good though I have not had them here. Available beverages include three kinds of agua fresca comma as well as a good variety of Jarritos naturally flavored Mexican sodas, and a variety of other drinks and sodas. No beer or alcoholic drinks.Go! Eat!!

Best place to have real Mexican food. I also go buy their freshly made tortillas, everything is delicious!!!!

Great home cooked food and great price

The food is good here. I ordered vegetables burrito. However I felt like wait was long considering they just need to put everything together and not cook anything.

Hole in the wall authentic Mexican restaurant. They have a delicious variety of plates and burritos as well as a unique selection of candies. The food is served very quickly. After eating go up to the counter to pay!

A week before our trip to Louisville, I read in Bon Appetite that this restaurant serves some of the best tacos in the US. We drove about an hour to come for lunch and so happy we did. The magazine suggested trying the tripe taco. This is something I've never been brave enough to try. So happy I ordered it. It has a slightly chewy texture but the flavour was so porky and delicious. In Ontario, you cant get a good taco for under $4, I love coming to the US, the tacos here are $1.70. Loved this place.

Great food! Definitely adding this place to our restaurant rotation. It's not on the menu but they can make killer breakfast burritos if you ask!

Consistently the best burrito in town by farn and possibly in 500 Mile radius. Always fresh ingredients and tortilas made in house and everything is always perfect.

When I first walked in there it looked like a place From hills have eyes is a store / food place they got my order Rong and I had to eat nothing I wasted my money and time there I WOULD NOT EAT HERE

EXCELLENT TASTE!! Authentic Mexican Flavor in all of their food ❤️❤️It’s almost impossible to find good authentic Mexican food in Kentucky and this place has it. Food is delicious and the tortillas are fresh and made on site. I ❤️ their tacos, made with REAL carne asada with double tortilla, I ordered 5 lg. tacos but after eating the 3rd taco, I was full. I had the cantaloupe agua fresca, it was ok, not impressed. Needed more flavor perhaps more sugar? Idk. I ordered a coke and it went well with my tacos. I’LL BE BACK!! 😋❤️🤤

Food is really good but the service is non-existent; horrible. Place wasn't full when we got there. Took about 13-15min for the server to come and take our order. After bringing our food, the server didn't even care to check up on us after that. She was sitting nearby chatting with another co-worker. I wanted to order more food but we just ended up leaving. I left no tip whatsoever.

Yes I loved this place absolutely authentic dishes! Home made tortillas very soft and pliable. The Lamb soup was soooooo soothing and flavorful. Rich chili undertones with large pieces of lamb. I highly recommend for anyone craving really good fresh tacos. Fast service even on a busy Saturday afternoon. Very friendly helpful staff.

Mom and pop neighborhood grocery store type deli. The tacos are excellent. Very simple - seasoned meat, onion, cilantro on tortillas made in the store. If you want a jumbo beef burrito with 3 pounds of rice and beans to with your jumbo margarita, this isn't the place for you. Go order a #7 off at the local McTaco place that is straight off the food service truck. These tacos are my standard of good tacos, and I plan trips with taco stops along the way. The dining area is small, so enjoy the good service, good food and leave. Don't loiter in the dining area reading your 700 page novel or scrolling aimlessly through your FB on your phone. Eat, enjoy, and make room for the family patiently standing at the door waiting for a table to come available. You will be back, I look forward to any excuse to go through Lexington just to stop in for tacos.

Food was so good I ate my first gordita before pausing to catch a photo. Amazing taste on the meet. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting authentic tasting Mexican food.

Best Tacos I’ve ever had! It is the standard by which I judge all other tacos now. As great as Tacos El Gordo is in Las Vegas it’s not as good as Tortilleria Y Taqueria Ramirez.

Only 2nd time I've been here.. so, tried tostada & then a burrito. Along with Horchata, everything was made vegan. It turned out that avocado was quite fresh (read: very delectable) & made the difference between very good & "quite amazing". Food is made-to-order, so the air really depends on # of customers. I was at the front of a half-dozen order & I don't think anyone waited more than 5-7mins. Highly recommend this place.

This is one of the best spots for authentic Mexican food and just food in general. The Al Pastor is excellent and the quality of food is top notch. I used to eat here almost daily when I first found it, but my wallet slowly began suggesting that I slow down. When you taste that food, you'll see that's very hard not to come back over and over again.

When the kids (ages 12,4,2) and I were deciding what to eat for Cinco de Mayo they chose Tortilleria Y Taqueria Ramirez over McDonalds. They were excited!😂

This is the best taco place I've ever been to. I have lived in California and many other places in the US and nothing I have experienced compares to this. Great value as well. Crazy variety of authentic Mexican cuisine.

Some of the best authentic mexican food in Central Kentucky! Can't go wrong ordering anything off the menu or buying any of the mexican grocery items like sodas, chips desserts, etc. I highly recommend trying their corn tortilla tacos especially with chorizo and chicken. Can't recommend this place enough if you love some great mexican food!

I never have liked this restaurant although i eat there quite frequently. I work with some guys from Mexico and they seem to really like Taqueria Ramirez. In my opinion the tacos are dry. Zero grease. Some people may like this but i prefer some good ol greasy food!!😀 if you go about 2 streets over from Ramirez to Village Drive, there is a Mexican restaurant beside the drive through liquor store. The restaurant is painted orange. I can't remember the name but in my opinion it is THE BEST Mexican restaurant in Lexington BY FAR.

Poor hygiene! Dude kept his gloves on and touched everything like menus tables cash etc and went back to cooking! Food quality is also poor! Please don't eat here!

This would be a great place even if they were just selling their tacos on the same mass marketed tortillas that everyone else does, but their in house tortillas really take it to the next level. Whenever I have an extra half hour or so in Lexington I stop here. Always worth crossing town for.

Street food tacos. Carne asada onion, cilantro, lime and salsa at the table. $1.70 for a small and $2.50 for a large. Oh so good. They offer lule. 8 different meat choices.

Staff was friendly. Got the steak tacos and horchata. They were both great. Can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu.

To be honest, I wasn't so sure about this place when we pulled into the parking lot. The storefront blended into a crumbling strip of commercial buildings. Once we entered, I still wasn't so sure. A few flies buzzing around the mostly empty dining tables was a bit disconcerting. But that's where the doubt stopped. We were greeted by a personable waitress who showed us to a table and then gave us her personal recommendations. I loved the variety of Mexican sodas and candies along the walls and shelves. And the barbacoa burrito I ordered?? Absolutely, mouthwateringly delicious. I'll make it a point to come back next time I'm in Lexington... this place is the definition of 'a hole in the wall' that you want to share with all your friends.

Best Carne Asada tacos and burritos in Fayette County. The salsa roja and verde are excellent.The folks there are always kind and considerate.Lock your car.

One of the best taco places in Lexington! Spent a few days here and all I ate was this place.

First time visit with my hubby as a surprise lunch date. I loved family owned business atmosphere and the food and the service was great. Our server was friendly and made a good recommendation. Hope to return and I hope they have some flan this time as they ran out when we were there. 😅

The atmosphere is family oriented and friendly. We went in and a young man invited us to find a table. He quickly came over and brought menus, then promptly returned to take our order. Food came out quickly and was hot and very fresh. I had the carnitas tacos and rice. The portions were perfect and the price is hard to beat. This is an awesome and authentic Mexican taqueria. I LOVED it.

Went for a late lunch/early dinner with a group of four, table service. I ordered small la lengua and pork tacos, a chorizo sopes, and a carnitas gordita. All were delicious, the tortillas are really great. And the homemade spicy red and verde salsas and very good. It's a relaxed atmosphere and they have TVs to watch sports. Yes, it could be a bit cleaner, but I will still keep coming back for the tacos because they're great.
